Assignment 1: Sketching Analysis

Task
Conduct a research and architectural analysis on five selected historical buildings from different time periods.
Reflection
For this assignment, we were required to sketch out 5 different buildings from 5 different eras. The buildings I chose were Stonehenge, Pyramids of Giza, The Parthenon, St. Peter's Basilica, and Altes Museum. I found this assignment to be quite interesting and fun as I had to opportunity to draw and colour these historical buildings. Also, I really enjoyed researching all the architectural elements and its history, my favourite has to be The Parthenon. With this assignment, I now have a deeper understanding on historical architectural elements.
Assignment 2: Analysis Report

Task
Create an illustrative booklet of Malaysian architecture that interprets modern Malaysian architectural language & influences in Malaysia's architectural development.
Reflection
For assignment 2, we had to analyse Malaysia's historical buildings and its architectural elements. The two buildings that we researched on are Stadium Negara and Church of Lady Lourdes. I managed to identify the different architectural elements in each building. We also got a deeper understanding on the Church of Lady Lourdes as we visited the site. It was amazing to see the church up close, and the site visit allowed us to understand the architectural elements more. Overall, I found this assignment to be extremely interesting and it has broadened my perspective on Malaysian architecture.
